HOOK UP 2.0, is the newest short narrative film written and directed by award-winning director Dana Nachman. HOOK UP 2.0 is a timely and well-crafted short that tackles issues of dating and technology in the current #MeToo climate. A sorority girl figures out a way to eliminate all risk from the late-night ritual that is the college hook up. Now all she needs is to find a guy to test out her idea on…and with. Starring Veronica Dunne (star of Disney’s K.C. Undercover, and recently seen on Broadway in Chicago as Roxie Hart ) and Billy Meade (best known for his role as Bill Aldrich in the FX series Feud: Bette & Joan).

Dana Nachman is an award-winning filmmaker of both fiction and documentary films. Nachman’s 2018 feature documentary Pick of the Litter was sold within 48 hours of its premiere at the Slamdance festival and is being released theatrically by IFC Films.
In 2018 Nachman won best female director awards at both Cleveland International Film Festival and Seattle International Film Festival.
Nachman’s 2015 film Batkid Begins was bought and distributed by Warner Bros./New Line Cinema. Previously she wrote, directed and produced the documentaries Witch Hunt, which was executive produced by Sean Penn and premiered at the 2008 Toronto International Film Festival; Love Hate Love, which premiered at the 2011 Tribeca Film Festival; and The Human Experiment, which screened at the Mill Valley and IDFA Film Festivals. She has won numerous awards over the course of her career, including three regional Emmy Awards, The Edward R. Murrow Award, and dozens of Jury and Audience Awards at film festivals.
Hook Up 2.0 is part of a trilogy of romantic comedies each showcasing a strong female protagonist of a different generation. The first episode in the trilogy is The Final Show which has screened at more than 40 festivals and won several awards.
Nachman is the co-creator and showrunner of a new prestige documentary series heading to Disney+ in the fall. Details on the show coming soon.
Veronica Dunne, actress of stage and screen is known for her starring role as Marisa in Disney’s “K.C. Undercover” She made her Broadway debut as the youngest Roxie Hart in Chicago the musicals history. Veronica got her start on stage by starring in the Lythgoe Family Production of Cinderella with Broadway veterans Shoshana Bean and Jennifer Leigh Warren She went on to star in the world premiere of Joe Iconis’ (NBC’s “Smash”, Be More Chill) new musical, The Black Suits.” as well as productions of Cabaret, Little Shop of Horrors, Into The Woods, and Spring Awakening.
Billy Meade was born in the small town of Verona, New Jersey. He is an actor who’s best known for his role as Bill Aldrich in the FX series Feud: Bette & Joan. Billy grew up in a busy house filled with his parents and 5 siblings. As a kid his first love was sports, excelling in football & track. After going to college on scholarship for football, Billy felt a strong pull towards the arts and shifted his attention to impact humanity on a much deeper level.
Director of Photography
Cinematographer Dominique Martinez hails from Miami and is of Cuban and Spanish descent. A graduate of the American Film Institute’s prestigious cinematography discipline, Dominique’s work includes commercials, documentaries, features, and television. Most recently, she shot the NETFLIX original television series THE CURIOUS CREATIONS OF CHRISTINE MCCONNELL, produced by the Henson Company. In 2018, she also shot the Oxygen Channel’s MYSTERIES & SCANDALS and the independent television pilot WORK FRIENDS, directed by Rodrigo Garcia. In addition, she has shot advertising campaigns for the likes of Lactaid, Olay and VEVO with a diverse talent pool ranging from Lady Gaga to the Muppets. Independent features and documentaries she has shot have screened at countless festivals with distribution across the globe. Currently, one of those features, AFTER THE REALITY, starring Matthew Morrison and Sarah Chalke, can be seen on Netflix. Dominique is thrilled to have worked with director, Dana Nachman, on a number of projects, including HOOKED UP 2.0 and is equally thrilled to have it screen at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival.
Jason McLagan is a producer and stop-motion animator. His works have screened internationally at festivals like Slamdance and Diversity in Cannes. Currently, an executive producer for Family Style, a magazine styled Asian food and travel series for Warner Bros./Stage13. He was a producer for Flip The Record, which won grand jury awards at UrbanWorld and St. Louis International Film Festival and his animated works can be seen as the animation director for LEGO’s The Build Zone web-series.
Marie Jamora’s first feature, WHAT ISN’T THERE, premiered at the Slamdance Film Festival and her latest film, FLIP THE RECORD, won the Grand Jury Awards for Best Narrative Short at Urbanworld and the St. Louis International Film Festival. Currently, an executive producer and director of FAMILY STYLE, an Asian food series with Warner Bros./Stage 13 and YOMYOMF, Jamora was named one of “Five Visionary Asian-American Female Filmmakers” in Kore Magazine’s ‘New Hollywood’ issue. Jamora is the first Filipina director to be accepted to the prestigious AFI Directing Workshop for Women, a 45-year old program that catapults directors to the next level of their careers and only accepts 8 women per year.
